Brandt Graham Signs In for the 2023 Peterborough Speedway Opener

While most of his recent racing history has been at the controls of a Dirt Late Model, Brandt Graham can still find the fast way around the blacktop at Canada’s Toughest 3rd Mile Oval.

Peterborough Speedway kicks-off its 2023 schedule Saturday, May 20th and the second-generation speedster from Orono, Ontario – who’ll celebrate his 25th birthday May 12th – has confirmed he’ll be in the starting line-up when teams in the newly branded KOD Disposal Late Model division take their first green flag. With a resume that includes a pair of Ontario Sportsman Series titles and solid finishes in the 2 most recent editions of the Electric City 167 during the Autumn Colours Classic, Brandt Graham is ready to make his first of a selected number of asphalt starts this year.

“Dad and I will continue to focus our efforts on events with the RUSH Late Model tour, but I want to race as much as possible,” Brandt Graham explained. “We have back-to-back dirt dates Saturday and Sunday, May 13th and 14th at Stateline and Eriez Speedways but things are wide-open for the opening weekend at Peterborough. It’ll be great to get back there and see some familiar faces and friends.”

Running the same equipment and set-up package that he’s used in his past shows at Peterborough Speedway, Brandt Graham says that the car hasn’t raced since last year at Autumn Colours. The crew has checked things over to make sure everything will be ready to roll for the kick-off to this year’s campaign. As things stand now, the Saturday, May 20th season opener is the only definite event on the asphalt schedule…so far. Whether on dirt or pavement, the Graham Racing No. 14 and No. 98 rides are proudly supported by Full Circle Automation, Arcade Pools, Dig Tech Infrastructure, PJ Larkin Salvage, White’s Equipment Service and Training, Beavis Excavating, GOAT Transport, Hot Rod Swag and Chrontario.

“After racing the Mini Stock there on a weekly basis earlier in my career, even this one race is like going back home,” said Brandt Graham. “From our front door to the pit gate is about a half hour’s drive. Considering my Dad had a lot of success and track championships there over the years, Peterborough Speedway will always be a favourite place for my family to race.”
